Noise Filter Tapes #1 - March 2013 Mix

With all this new music coming out, it's hard to keep up with all of it. So I've started a monthly mix series in which I play new and noteworthy music that came in the past month. Hope you enjoy these!

Stream below:

The mix starts with a brand new song from The Bloody Beetroots, "SPANK", which features Tai and Bart B More. This banger is solid proof that the Beetroots are still strong, so let's hope their album due this summer is just as good. Up next is two new songs from Surkin off of his "Advanced Entertainment System" EP, expect a review of that EP on the blog this week. Next is a new track from Boysnoize Records heavyweight Djedjotronic, from the EP of the same name: "Kaiko". The song title could leave some scratching their heads, but take note, this song is dangerously sweet. After that is turntablist group C2C's remix of Vitalic's "Fade Away", a great, upbeat little number that's right up there with the original. Next up is "Itchy", the new song from the one-and-only Siriusmo, it's a short one, but still great. He's offering it as a free download on his Soundcloud, so head over there and listen to it until his new album "Enthusiast" drops in June. Then, it's some brand-new Four Tet, "For These Times", from Nonplus's "Think and Change" compilation, a collection of inventive, laid-back electronic music, check it out.

Next, The Chemical Brothers step up to remix Boys Noize's "XTC", transforming the banger into, well, a bigger banger. After that is a remix of A-Trak & Tommy Trash's "Tuna Melt" from none other than Les Rythmes Digitales, AKA Jacques Lu Cont, AKA Thin White Duke, AKA et cetera. Up next, the Crookers transform Deadmau5 & Imogen Heap's "Telemiscommunications" into something scary, and after a (admittedly pretty bad) transition by me, Diplo & GTA bust a move for "Boy Oh Boy", which slips from 126 to 106 BPM without me even noticing. The mix closes with Justice's moody, thundering remix of "Ich R U" by Boys Noize. But wait, there's more! In case you've been living under a rock, Daft Punk are back with a new album out in May, "Random Access Memories". I shoehorned a loop of their new song, which doesn't have a name yet, but we'll probably see as a single.
