#20 - Pretty Lights - Around The Block
An insane track receives an insane video to go along with it. This video depicts PL himself in the studio and around the city, and includes some really inventive stop-motion camerawork.
#19 - Duke Dumont - Need U (100%)
This was an obvious choice to put on the list. It's a pretty funny story of a guy with a radio in his stomach, making everybody around him break into dance. It's simplistic, but really works.
#18 - Vitalic - Fade Away
In this clever video from Vitalic (whose "Stamina" video was one of my favorites of last year), a series of assassins murder each other in order to take possession of a mysterious briefcase. It just keeps getting better, and the twist ending will leave you scratching your head. In a good way!
#17 - Major Lazer - Bubble Butt
By far the most "WTF?!" NSFW video of the year, "Bubble Butt" comes from the devilish mind of Eric Wareheim of Tim & Eric. Just watch it, okay?
...Did you watch it? Great! How did it make you feel? Enlightened, maybe? Because that's how I felt after watching this work of art.
#16 - RAC - Let Go
The unique story makes this video; a husband desperately attempts to subdue his wife's murderous, cannibalistic tendencies. I've never seen a story like that before. The video also wins my award for Most Disturbing Product Placement Of The Year, at 2:48. Now I really don't want a Beats Pill.
#15 - Midnight Juggernauts - Memorium
The second Midnight Juggernauts video on this list is an affectionate tribute to the history of computer-animated imagery. It's really interesting to see how far we've come from the days where the most high-end computers could only process a couple geometric shapes. An intriguing video, for sure.
#14 - Breach - Jack
I'm surprised this video hasn't gone viral (although 6 million views is impressive). It has all the makings of an Internet hit; it's catchy as hell and weird as f*ck. I think the director has some sort of hair fetish, because there is hair all over the place in this video. It's just the right combination of hilarious and disturbing.
#13 - Daft Punk - Instant Crush
Daft Punk said they wouldn't make any more music videos, a promise immediately broken with "Lose Yourself To Dance". Now comes the video for "Instant Crush", a touching love story between two museum mannequins with an ironic ending. Inter-cut into the story is footage of Julian Casablancas dancing quite awkwardly. His jacket is pretty cool, though.
#12 - Pharrell Williams - Happy
Alright, this song isn't completely electronic, but I just needed to throw this video on here. The main video above is okay, but it really serves as a preview of the full music video. It's 24 hours long, each portion filmed at a specific time of day. It features cameos from Steve Carrell, Tyler the Creator, and some Despicable Me minions, and you can watch it at 24hoursofhappy.com. Doesn't it make you want to dance?
#11 - Shugo Tokumaru - Katachi
This song isn't exactly electronic, either, but how could I not mention it? This beautiful stop-motion animated masterpiece speaks for itself. Bravo, Kijek and Adamski (the directors).
